The last ten days of Ramadan are considered to be the most sacred and blessed days of the entire month. These days are also known as the “laylat al-qadr” or the Night of Power. It is believed that on this night, the first verses of the Quran were revealed to the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and that this night is better than a thousand months.
Muslims often spend these last ten days in increased prayer, recitation of the Holy Quran, and acts of charity and kindness. Many also engage in itikaf, a period of seclusion and devotion in a mosque or other place of worship.
So, apart from our regular daily lives, the additional daily routine of Ramadan is added and we know that this will be quite intense for all of us and we may forget to donate, which is a huge opportunity missed – especially in the last 10 nights.
